Day 2: 14:30-16:00
Crowdsourcing is a varied and growing model that uses digital technologies and the open participation of volunteers to empower people and to leverage the so-called “wisdom of the crowd” to tackle social challenges. It is applied to address diverse issues as education, healthcare, transparency, sustainability, and the environment. The impact and reach of such crowd-based endeavors depends mainly on continued user participation, which calls for instruments to provide rewards, incentives, and other mechanisms to attract and engage volunteers to contribute to the common cause.
